The Tom Riddle Chronicles: The First Wizarding War
By 1970 Tom, who now went by the name Lord Voldemort, had gathered a following of witches and wizards who called themselves Death Eaters. Some were supportive of his cause to dominate Muggles, others were simply greedy for power. Tom began taking advantage of the Wizarding World’s weakness; the creatures that they had outcast, and recruited giants and werewolves to join his ranks. Tom and his followers freely used the Unforgivable Curses and killed mercilessly and indiscriminately. Every week news would come of more deaths, more disappearances, more torturing. People were so afraid to speak his name, that he was referred to as “You-Know-Who” or “He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.”
